Privacy Policy

The short version: ApplyPad keeps your job-search data on your own device. There are no accounts, no tracking, no advertising, and no company server storing your applications or résumés. The only time anything leaves your device is when you run a job search (the keyword query is sent to our search service) or turn on optional, end-to-end-encrypted sync between your own devices.

This policy covers the ApplyPad web app, the ApplyPad mobile app, and the ApplyPad — Capture browser extension (together, “ApplyPad”).

What we collect

We don’t collect your personal data. ApplyPad has no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no developer backend that stores your information. We don’t ask you to create an account.

The information you put into ApplyPad — the jobs you track, their details and notes, and any résumés you add for matching — is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.

The browser extension (ApplyPad — Capture)

It runs only when you click it, and reads the visible text of the job posting on the tab you’re viewing, using the activeTab and scripting permissions.
It requests no host permissions and makes no network requests. The posting is parsed on your device.
When you choose “Save to ApplyPad,” the extension opens the ApplyPad web app and hands the captured posting to it locally (through the page address). Nothing is uploaded to us in the process.

Job search

When you search for jobs inside ApplyPad, your search keywords and optional location are sent to the ApplyPad search service to look up matching roles from public company career pages. These queries are used only to return results; we don’t attach them to an identity or profile, and your saved applications and résumés are never sent as part of a search.

Résumé matching

Résumés you add — including PDFs or Word files you upload — are read and matched to job postings entirely on your device. Their contents are not uploaded to us.

Optional sync between your devices

If you turn on sync, your data is end-to-end encrypted on your device before it leaves, and is relayed between your own devices without us (or the relay) being able to read it. The recovery phrase shown in the app is your encryption key — it stays with you, and we never receive it. Sync is off unless you enable it.

Children’s privacy

ApplyPad is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above and post the revised version at this address.
